Writing and publications

From newsletters and blogs to ebooks and peer-reviewed research, writing is a core part of my work across different platforms and audiences. I write content that’s not only well-researched and engaging, but also strategic: meeting readers where they are, whether it’s students, civil society leaders, or newcomers to Norway. Much of my writing is based on interviews and research, and I often ghostwrite or edit on behalf of others. I care deeply about clarity and accessibility, and always aim to produce writing that is both useful and human.

Here are some key examples from my portfolio:

• Shaping public conversations through storytelling: As the newsletter strategist and editor for REWIRE Democracy, I manage a Substack publication that brings stories and tools from a civil society incubator to a broader European audience. I write, edit, ghostwrite, and interview contributors to develop clear, compelling content, resulting in 1,000+ readers and nearly 100 subscribers within the first two issues.

• Writing to meet audience needs and drive results: Since 2018, I’ve been managing the website and blog for EMMIR, a global migration master's programme. I produce blog posts, student and alumni interviews, programme explainers, and institutional updates—all written with accessibility and audience needs in mind. This writing contributed to a 900% increase in monthly website views and a 3100% growth in LinkedIn followers over 6 years.

• Creating useful resources for newcomers: For Unlock Norway, I authored a 50+ page Unlock Norway ebook for newly arrived internationals, covering everything from getting a phone number to navigating cultural norms. Based on research, interviews, and real lived experiences of internationals here, it has become a trusted guide for many, and resulting in hundreds of sales to date!

• Publishing research and contributing to knowledge building: As part of the DIASPOlitic research team, I co-authored articles on political participation and migration. Our piece on voting practices among migrants was published in the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies (JEMS), while a more accessible version appeared in Routed Magazine, translated into Polish and Romanian to reach our study’s participants.

• Impact measuring and case study reporting: I was commissioned by Hope-Based Communications to write in-depth case studies showcasing the impact of their methodology globally. I interviewed partners, analyzed impact reports, and translated complex stories of mindset change into compelling narratives that prove the value of the hope-based strategy in action.
