Communications for Migration, Intercultural, and Humanitarian Contexts.
Hi, I'm Gabriella! I'm a communications professional with a focus on migration, human rights, humanitarian, and intercultural contexts. I have lived and worked/volunteered in 9 countries with projects related to these topics. I have a B.A. in Journalism from the School of Communications at DePaul University in Chicago, IL and an M.A. in Migration and Intercultural Relations from the Erasmus Mundus programme, EMMIR. I am a self-taught graphic designer and illustrator.
I am a self-taught graphic designer proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud. My previous work has included print material for office settings as well as creative online material.
Branding & Logo Design
I have created cohesive brand design for several business, organisations, and projects. From helping clients define their brand identity, to designing logos and defining branding manual terms, nothing makes me happier than seeing a cohesive and consistent brand strategy!
Using Procreate and an Apple Pencil, one of my most enjoyable past-times is illustrating. I have created illustrations for organisations related to migrants' rights, as well as commissioned portraits, product and website illustrations, and more.
I am currently working as a Communications Specialist with EMMIR at the University of Oldenburg, Germany, and as a volunteer with the communications team at MigrationMatters, a Berlin-based organisation. I do freelance projects on the side. My experience with migration-related communications includes designing websites, writing blog posts and articles, designing and implementing social media strategies, and more.
