The evolution of a logo

My first encounter with EMMIR was with this logo. I started from scratch...

EMMIR's unofficial motto was 'EMMIR turns your world upside down," so I wanted to start there.

The first drafts of the logo were rough, very rough. But I knew I wanted to work with the upside down map and a dark blue color.

After dropping the map location icon, things came together quite quickly!
